Witch Kit Instructions

Graftobian’s Witch KitBefore You Start: Your make-up should be applied in a clean, well lit area. Give yourself plenty of room, and arrange your materials neatly in front of you. If you are doing the make-up on yourself, make sure you have an amply sized, well lit mirror. Wear old clothes— making up can get messy! Make-up should always be applied to clean skin, so wash your hands and face and you are ready to begin.
Time Needed: This will require 30-45 minutes to complete.

Please Note: If you have any known allergies to any of the listed ingredients of any of the components of this kit, do not use that component. Select a shade or item from your dealer’s stock that will give you a similar effect or serve a similar purpose but does not contain the ingredient to which you react. If any of the products contained in this kit cause discomfort, remove as instructed and discontinue use.

As you are laying out your make-up as suggested above, be sure you have all of the items listed on the front label panel under “This Kit Contains.” Use of optional suggested items will be discussed below, as will costuming tips.

Applying the Make-Up:

Figure 1: Using a Latex Sponge Wedge, wipe across the surface of the Green Foundation to load the sponge. Once the sponge is properly loaded, apply the foundation to the areas of the face as shown.

Coat the skin evenly but with as thin a coat as possible to get your desired opacity. This is your foundation, your bottom coat, upon which you will build the character lines, highlights and shadowing needed to create a realistic looking face. Note that you are covering all exposed skin, which includes the ears, neck and into the hairline; you want to cover all skin that will be showing once you have finished making-up and the costuming has been added.

Note: If you are putting make-up on someone else, always approach the eye area gently and with warning. Never just stab away with your sponge, brush, or other implement. Have your subject close her eyes when coloring the upper lid and below the brows. Have her open her eyes and look up when you are coloring the areas just below the eye, including the lower eyelid.

Figure 2: Begin your creation of the witch’s features by selecting the Yellow Foundation. Using a sponge or your fingertip, dab the yellow coloring onto the highlight areas of the upper forehead, the forehead above the eyebrows, the front ridge of the nose, and the under eye area. Use your sponge or finger to gently blend the yellow into the green as indicated in this figure.

Once the blending is complete, it’s time to powder. Load Powder onto Powder Puff by sprinkling a small pile of powder onto the middle of the puff, folding the puff and rubbing the puff’s sides together until the powder is substantially loaded into the velour of the puff. Using a gentle but rapid patting motion, work the powder deliberately across the face, one section at a time. Reload the puff frequently to avoid excessive “offsetting” of the make-up onto your puff. When the face is fully “set” you will be able to touch the make-up without it coming off.

Ugly Witch Tip: If we were trying to create an ugly witch, we would be beginning with darker tones, shadowing below the eyes, on the temples, the nasal fold, the hollows of the cheeks, on the chin and deepening any other fold or wrinkle on our subject’s face.

Figure 3: Apply Deep Misty Blue creme liner with a Brush to the eyelid area up to the eyebrow. Remember to be careful around the eye area.

Figure 4: Using the Black Foundation, brush over the upper eyelid and blend the Black back into the Deep Misty Blue as indicated. Also use the Brush loaded with Black foundation to paint in your deep eyebrows. Use the Black Liner Pencil to draw the lower eyelid line, to touch up any other eye area, and to create the beauty mark on the chin as shown. Powder everything down.

Ugly Witch Tip: If we were trying to create an ugly witch, we may relocate that beauty mark to the nose and blend a bit of yellow into it to indicate the highlight of the tip of the wart.

Figure 5: Using your Brush, paint the Maroon creme liner onto the lips yielding a deep, rich lipstick color. Powder the lips as well. Add sheen with a lip gloss and mascara for more drama.

Figure 6: Add your wig and hat and you can start creating your brew.

Costume & Accessory Tips: The witch is a very fun character to accessorize. You have so many items to choose from. If you select a wig for your hair, do yourself a favor and purchase a wig cap–serves the added benefit of helping to grip your wig so it holds on well. If you want to color your hair instead, we recommend our black colored hair spray. A witch hat is a virtual must. Select one that fits well when the wig is in place.

Regarding your costume, witch gowns come in a variety of lengths and materials. The satins that flow easily tend to be very flattering and if you choose a short style, don’t forget the fishnet panty hose. For the hands, if you choose to continue the green look, apply the make-up as mentioned above, powder down and finish the look with black fingernail polish, black press-ons, or any number of nifty nails available. Otherwise, a seriously classy witch may wish to consider a pair of shoulder length black satin gloves to dress the hands. Witch brooms, black cats and cauldrons round out this pretty fair list of your possible accessories as a witch who is ready to fly!

Removal: Our makeup can be removed with make-up remover or Cold Cream Makeup Remover (not included). Once all make-up is carefully removed, gently wash with soap and water.
