Wedding day, starring you Part 2

Now that you have the skin prepped and all corrective work is done, the real fun begins. Whether you're the makeup artist or the bride, you'll find an easy go-to guide to foundation technique below.

Know your undertone
Warm = yellow, peachy, or golden undertones (gold jewelry looks better on you than silver)
Neutral = a mix of yellow and pink undertones
Cool = pink, red, or bluish undertones (silver and platinum jewelry looks better on you than gold)

Once you know you're undertone, pick your palette.
From these palettes, you can select one that is the closest range for you. For example, if you are always in the lightest range of every foundation selection you have ever seen, you would select from the lightest colored palettes (Warm #1, Cool #1, Neutral #1), or maybe even Ultra-Lites (our lightest palette for very, very pale skin).

Test the shade on the jawline. If it stands out like a sore thumb, it's not your match. Try the next darkest shade in the palette until you find the one that blends seamlessly into your skin. Be gentle and work with a light hand. Press the makeup into the skin rather than rubbing it in. The makeup will look like it's one with the skin instead of looking like it's sitting on top of it. Once you know your undertone and shade (or your client's), Graftobian's HD Cremes and airbrush do the rest of the work.

What is HD Makeup?

Although Graftobian's HD Makeup is especially made for makeup artists, it can be used by everyone. The light-scattering ingredients in the high definition makeup make the skin look flawless because the makeup appears invisible under harsh lights in photography and film. The matte formula prevents skin from looking oily, while simultaneously avoiding glare. Graftobian offers 64 shades, so you will be sure to find a match.

A little goes a long way. To avoid putting too much on, take a spatula and scoop a pea-sized amount of the HD creme onto the back of your hand or a mixing palette. If you or the client has dry skin, mix in some OxyDerm Moisturizer.

Have your essentials on hand
Keep the essentials close by for touch-ups. Graftobian's new HD makeup kids include everything you need for that special day. Shown is the New HD Essentials Makeup Kit in Warm 2. HD Professional Kits are also available for makeup artists.
